A collection of single-storey pavilions is linked by covered walkways, terraces, koi ponds, fountains and private gardens, all arranged around three sides of a 25-metre free-form swimming pool.
Guests enter into a spacious, open-sided pavilion with outdoor dining for 20, with direct access to a chef’s kitchen and guest washroom.
The main pavilion features an indoor living room, media room and the Poolside Suite, all opening onto covered terraces then a broad, sun-dappled pool deck.
A further pavilion, separated by twin fountains, gives privacy to the Master and Koi Suites, both with outdoor bathrooms and seating areas, plus their own butler’s kitchen and maxi bar.
At the far end of the pool is a Joglo pavilion with relaxed seating and pool beds, perfect for events, plus the Blue Ocean and Rose Garden Suites, making up the villa’s five bedroom suites.
The villa is completed by a traditional, thatched poolside Balé, housing a sprawling, shaded and fan-cooled daybed.
The five bedroom suites are each individually designed with bespoke furniture, crafted from the hull of a traditional Phinisi boat.
All have luxury mattresses with 1,000 thread-count linen, a choice of down or foam pillows, black-out curtains, large flatscreens with cable TV and Blu-ray disc players, plus both air-conditioning and overhead fans. Large, light-filled bathrooms feature non-slip marble floors, twin basins, indoor/outdoor rain showers and terrazzo bathtubs, looking onto private courtyard gardens.
The Bau Bau Master Suite
Positioned for complete privacy, the master bedroom features an imposing king-size bed, twin armchairs and a sofa, all set on a tumbled marble floor, opening onto a private walled garden with seating, landscaped around a towering, tropical Bau Bau tree.
There’s a second walled garden off the huge ensuite bathroom – a decadent space with dressing area, ottoman, stone bathtub plus both indoor and outdoor showers. One or even two children’s beds can be added to the bedroom.
This amazing master retreat has been home to oligarchs, princesses and even a Victoria’s Secret Angel.
Also in the master pavilion is a second king-bedded guest suite, named for its outlook of tall trees and manicured garden. This space is perfect for a family with young children as a door connects its large garden bathroom to the master bathroom and a hidden butler’s kitchen with maxi-bar serves this pavilion.
Located in the main pavilion, this bedroom opens onto covered terraces facing the pool on one side and a koi pond on the other. Like the Master Suite, its king-size bed has mosquito netting to create the intimacy of a four-poster or retractable to open up the space. The bathroom hosts both an indoor/outdoor shower and a huge bathtub.
Blue Ocean And Rose Garden Suites
Named after their soft blue and pink colour schemes in a pavilion discretely screened by a garden wall, the guest pavilion features two bedroom suites, each with its own entrance, beds that can be configured as a king or twins, and delightful bathrooms with dressing areas, twin vanities, large baths, glass walls and indoor/outdoor showers opening onto courtyard gardens. Each can have a child’s bed added.
The Floating Annexe
Guests may add this adjacent and fully self-contained one-bedroom suite, with a separate living room, to allow up six bedrooms.
A grand Living Room is highlighted by a chandelier cascading from the vaulted roof, sparkling in the sunshine streaming through the skylight. Below, a baby grand piano, pool table, bar and vast sofa rest on vintage oriental-rugs. Walls of glass doors at both ends can slide back for tropical, fan-cooled living or stay closed for air-conditioned comfort. Opening onto a broad, covered terrace then the pool deck, this dramatic space is perfect for entertaining.
Next door is the air-conditioned Media Room, where another large sofa and twin chaise longues offer supreme comfort to watch the 51-inch flatscreen TV, complete with Bose surround-sound and Blu-ray disc player. There’s a library of over a thousand DVDs and a varied selection of books to peruse at your leisure.
The Dining Pavilion is dominated by a 4.5 metre, 20-seat table crafted from a single piece of Balinese natural wood. Opening onto the pool deck, and with a vaulted wooden roof soaring high above a terrazzo floor, the pavilion is cooled by natural breezes and ceiling fans, while soothed by the sound of water trickling from fountains in the surrounding ponds. Alongside, yet out-of-sight, is a professionally-equipped, commercial kitchen – the domain of LataLiana’s two chefs.
Presiding at the head of the pool is another alfresco seating area formed by the ornately-carved frame of a 100-year-old Balinese Joglo, raised on an ironwood deck. This heritage teakwood structure from Java, with its distinctive trapezium-shaped roof, serves as a star-lit dining area or romantic wedding space, while an awning can be attached to cover the entire deck for events.
Also poolside is the beautiful Balé, a traditional Indonesian grass-roofed pondok (rice shelter), providing a shaded alternative to the pool decks and submerged seating at both ends of the pool. Parasol-shaded sun loungers dot the ironwood decks, while swing seats and clusters of laid-back seating on shaded terraces create further spaces for relaxation.

FAMILIES AT LATALIANA VILLAS
The entire LataLiana Estate is a paradise for parents and children alike, with plenty of safe places to play both in and out of the sun, toys, kid’s bikes, lots of TVs and a thousand DVDs, a Sony PlayStation, and of course great swimming pools with shallow areas, steps and pool toys.
The staff at LataLiana love looking after their junior guests, giving parents plenty of opportunity to stay in and relax or go out explore, with full-time babysitting at just a small extra cost.
Although our full kitchens allow guests to easily prepare meals for fussy eaters or babies – why not simply brief your Butler on your requirements and meal schedules and let us take care of the rest. Nemo fish fingers in the TV room? Kung Fu Panda fried rice by the pool? No problem. The chefs can customise all meals to suit all children’s taste buds.
And don’t worry about packing all that cumbersome kids’ equipment as we can provide you with everything from pool safety fences to baby baths, cots, high chairs and seats.
LataLiana is also well-suited to older kids, with plenty of places and things to do, both inside and out, allowing down-time for parents.
Treatments at LataLiana are courtesy of the highly-trained therapists from Spa Venus at our nearby sister property, Villa Kubu, who can be summoned to your villa with just a little notice, offering a tantalising array of holistic treatments using all organic, locally-sourced products.
