VILLA INDAH MANIS
Kamboja Master Bedroom
The Kamboja suite, with its royal décor and wide hilltop views, takes pride of place at Indah Manis. This romantic bedroom is named after the fragrant frangipani flower and is distinguished by a royal red entranceway, off which is a bold purple and gold-trimmed bedchamber, a luxurious dressing area and an ensuite bathroom where guests can soak in a petal-filled bathtub under the gaze of a benevolent goddess in a private garden courtyard. Below a soaring roof, the bedroom is furnished with a small desk, a satellite TV and a canopied king-size bed dressed in soft white linen and accessorised with richly embroidered cushions and trim. Making the most of the glorious views, wide sliding glass doors open onto a stone terrace furnished with comfortable all-weather armchairs and a side table.
Named after the sweet-scented gardenia flower, the air-conditioned Jempiring room beckons its guests across a lily pond before welcoming them with a chartreuse-green theme and plenty of space. Furnished with twin beds that convert to a queen-sized bed, together with two sofas that can be made up as single beds, this room is perfect for a group of up to four kids or a couple with two young children. All age groups will love the ensuite garden bathroom, which is fitted with twin washbasins and a rain shower and features a stunningly lit Balinese statue framed within a glassless window.
Alamanda guestroom and Melati annex
Alamanda is a trumpet-shaped flowering climber, and this bright guest room of the same name, with its king-size bed and cosy annex, is perfect for either a couple looking for a little extra living space or for a family. The orange-toned Melati (jasmine) annex serves a dual purpose as either a private sitting room or as a kids’ bedroom, sleeping up to two children on the two sofas, which convert to twins or a double bed. The two rooms share a bathroom.
Cempaka (also meaning Frangipani) is the only upstairs suite at the villa, and has extraordinary views from its breezy covered terrace, which is furnished with a comfortable daybed and a gracious wooden statue. In the bedroom, guests will just melt into the ambiance of the rich chocolate-accented décor, packaged in glass, teak, and coffee-coloured marble. Here, the king-size bed is positioned to enjoy the views through glass doors that open widely onto the terrace. The room is equipped with a satellite TV and has an ensuite bathroom enclosed within slatted timber walls and filtted with a refreshing rain shower.
Stairs at the side of the living pavilion lead down to Indah Manis’ ‘fun zone’ where, alongside the spa, fitness and games rooms, lies the Lotus guestroom. Older kids, in particular, will love having this area of the villa to themselves. With bright yellow and lavender walls, large twin beds, and a wall of glass doors to the front opening onto a furnished terrace complete with a large jacuzzi, the Lotus room makes a wonderful hideaway.
Blessed with sea views over the treetops, the semi-open-air living and dining pavilion is the social heart of Villa Indah Manis. A place to congregate in fan-cooled comfort enhanced by fresh breezes drifting in through the room’s open front, which leads out onto the pool deck. This large pavilion, with its soaring bamboo-lined roof, is flanked by a fish-filled lily pond and serenaded by the sound of bubbling water. A dining table for ten lies at one end while at the other guests can relax on sofas and lazy chairs. After dark, the pavilion takes on a different persona, softly lit with two impressive wrought iron chandeliers and surrounded by the mellow glow of garden lamps, its glamour is enhanced by the distant lights of Kuta and Seminyak twinkling across the ocean.
Below the living pavilion and pool deck, the media room is a cosy, air-conditioned den, decorated in warm deep orange tones, harmonised with rich silk cushions. In this little snug, families can get together, sink into the comfy sofa and watch TV or choose from a wide variety of movies on the Movie Box or from a library of DVDs. Surround-sound completes the home theatre experience. An alternative option is to settle down for an evening of board games, selected from the big stack on the shelf unit; there’s even a Mah Jong set.
Apart from the beautifully landscaped gardens most of Indah Manis’s outdoor activity takes place around the main living pavilion, where a row of sun loungers are arranged on the deck to one side of the pool, and a thatched cabana bar and alfresco dining table at the other. The lighting here at night is stupendous and is guaranteed to get the party started.
Downstairs below the pool deck is the open-sided games room with pool table and darts board, the spa and gym, and a petanque court.
Indah Manis is composed of a series of pavilions complemented by gorgeous flat-lawned gardens and lily ponds. At its heart is a fan-cooled living and dining pavilion, open at the front to a 16-metre infinity pool, sun deck, alfresco dining terrace and bar, and with views to the ocean beyond. The fully equipped kitchen and the bedroom suites are set further back among the gardens. One of the five bedrooms has an annex that can accommodate two extra children. Beneath the pool deck, the lower ground floor comprises an air-conditioned home theatre, fitness room, spa room, the Lotus bedroom and an open-sided games room.
The self-contained, one-bedroom honeymoon villa, Bulan Madu, can be rented in conjunction with Indah Manis to make a private and romantic sixth bedroom.
In Bulan Madu’s air-conditioned and fan-cooled bedroom a king-size bed is swathed in golden and green fabric below high, thatched ceilings. The regal semi-open-air (but very private) ensuite bathroom is crafted in cream-coloured stone, featuring a sunken two-person tub and a rain shower, bordered by fishponds, water features and garden views.
The lounge space is open to the back and front, and has magnificent views out over the ocean; it is furnished with three circular armchairs and equipped with a mini bar and iPod docking station. The dining table normally resides on the pool terrace but can easily be moved into the living area should the weather be inclement.
Beyond the living pavilion, a 6m x 4m infinity pool presides over the garden with spectacular views of the neighbouring forest and out to sea. Relaxation comes in the form of sunloungers, a balé bengong pavilion and a table for alfresco dining on the pool terrace – all surrounded by manicured lawns and shaded by frangipani flowers and tall trees.
Bulan Madu has its own ornate Balinese entranceway and can also be accessed via a door connecting to its neighbour, Villa Indah Manis. The villa comprises an air-conditioned bedroom and an open-sided fan-cooled lounge. Steps descend into a mature landscaped garden, where a 6m x 4m infinity pool overlooks the forested hillside and out to sea and a balé bengong pavilion awaits.
Villa Indah Manis & Bulan Madu
You are most welcome to take advantage of the villa’s fully-equipped kitchen but, bearing in mind that you’re on holiday, we invite you to sit back, relax and enjoy some delicious home-cooked meals prepared by the villa’s very accomplished in-house chef and assistant cook.
The villa’s suggestion menu makes ordering easier, but we recommend that you also chat with the chef about any special dishes that your group would like him to prepare. The kitchen staff are excellent, but we’re sure you will appreciate that they do not have the capacity of a hotel or restaurant, so meals are generally served ‘family style’, where everyone shares dishes, as opposed to ordering individually. Food intolerances, special diets and children’s meals can all be catered for, and the chef will, of course, adjust the seasoning of dishes to suit different palates. Villa Indah Manis has a barbecue on site, so we highly recommend the local seafood feast featuring the catch of the day from Jimbaran Bay. Beers, wines and spirits can be provided upon request. All beverages are charged per drink, except for wine, which is charged by the bottle.
The food and beverage service is operated on a cash basis. Staff will request a cash float/deposit when you arrive to cover all your in-villa food and drinks, and ask for top-ups every few days, or when necessary. To allow the kitchen staff time to shop and prepare, it’s necessary to order in advance – either the evening before (for special requests) or at breakfast time each day. Grocery shopping will be done by the staff at local markets, supermarkets and delis. Food and beverages are charged at market price (plus a 20% handling fee which is subject to service and tax at the prevailing rate). Receipts will be kept and presented either on a daily or end-of-stay basis, whichever you prefer.
Villa Indah Manis & Bulan Madu
The family-friendly advantages of a villa holiday are many, including access to your own private facilities and the freedom to use them whenever you want. Knowing that the kids can run around happily, independently and safely, without you having to worry about other guests, is a real plus – and one that means parents are certain to have a more relaxed holiday too.
Our team of friendly staff at Villa Indah Manis will make youngsters feel as welcome as adults, they are very happy to assist with children during the daytime when parents are present, and having these willing helpers on hand will give you the flexibility to do your own exploring beyond the villa grounds (full-time babysitting incurs a small extra cost).
Indah Manis is a great villa for families – particularly those with older children, who will love the petanque court, the pool table, the darts board, and having the Lotus bedroom as their own ‘secret’ hideaway. While the villa is suitable for toddlers too, mums and dads will need to keep an eye out around the swimming pool and ponds. If it happens to be a rainy day, don’t despair, as the villa is well equipped with kids’ DVDs and numerous board games.
Our fully equipped kitchen allows you to prepare meals for fussy young eaters or babies with ease, but the staff will also be very happy to do this for you – just talk through your requirements and meal schedules with the villa manager or the cooks and they will take care of the rest. Don’t worry about packing all that cumbersome kids’ equipment for your stay. Just let us know what you need, and anything we don’t have in-house (villa facilities include a baby cot and highchair) can be hired on your behalf (click here to see list of available hire items).
And when the excitement of exploring the villa starts to wear off, check out our Things to do page; there’s plenty in the area to keep all the family amused throughout the holiday.
GYM & SPA
Villa Indah Manis & Bulan Madu
A small gym is located at Indah Manis, downstairs beneath the swimming pool and is equipped with an exercise bike, a step trainer, dumbbells and a full length wall mirror. The room is air-conditioned so you can cross train to your heart’s content. Alternatively, for a gentler form of exercise, you can do some yoga stretches. In-villa private yoga sessions can also be arranged – please speak with the villa manager.
Villa Indah Manis’ spa room is well equipped for luxurious in-villa treatments. Facilities include two massage beds and a special chair designed for administering Indonesian cream baths – an enriching hair treatment and head massage, not to be missed! The room also features a free-standing bathtub, toilet and shower and, out on the shady terrace, a large tiled jacuzzi. Deluxe treatments can be carried out by fully trained therapists from a reputable local spa with an hour or so’s notice – just ask the villa manger to organise your appointment (extra charges will apply). Here’s a sample of what’s on the menu:
Release built up tension with a traditional Balinese massage. Using a combination of gentle stretches, acupressure and aromatherapy oils to stimulate the flow of blood, oxygen and energy around your body you will feel totally relaxed in no time.
Foot reflexology is a natural healing art based on the principle that there are reflexes in the feet which correspond to every part of the body. Through application of pressure on these reflexes tension is relieved and circulation improved leaving you feeling balanced.
A full body scrub will exfoliate and hydrate your skin leaving it soft and smooth. A rejuvenating scrub combines an abrasive material such as salt, coffee, rice bran or pecan hulls with essential oils to remove any impurities and make your skin glow.
Our hands and feet work hard for us every day but rarely get the attention they deserve. Treat them to a manicure or pedicure, which usually comes with the added bonus of a quick hand or foot massage.
